The Oasis Addiction Recovery Society is the registered charitable organization which provides administration and financial support to The Metro Oasis Club.

Since the spring of 1993, The Metro Oasis Club has been a not-for-profit agency that is dedicated to assisting persons with alcohol and/or substance abuse issues to recapture their lives, and once again become contributing members of society. The Metro Oasis Club also provides support services for the families and friends of those afflicted with alcohol/substance addictions, as well as promoting awareness of these diseases to the general public.

The Metro Oasis Club is not affiliated with any political, religious, governmental, racial, gender specific, ethnic, treatment or medical organization, and adheres to a strict policy of non-discriminations, and is opinion neutral in all areas other than alcohol/substance abuse and/or recovery from these addictions.

The Metro Oasis Club does not employ professional addiction counselors, but offers peer support and follows the tried and true philosophy of Alcoholics Anonymous that one alcoholic/drug addicts working with one another will produce results like no other. While not associated with Alcoholics Anonymous or any other 12 Step organization, we fully endorse their programs of recovery as a way to achieve and maintain sobriety. To this end, we facilitate meetings of these organizations on our premises daily.

Recognizing the variants of addictions and the treatment required to overcome these addictions, The Metro Oasis Club networks with all local (Ontario) treatment centres for those who require in-depth assistance, and maintains a liaison with local detoxification centres and hospitals to address urgent medical needs.

Our belief is that the successful recovery from addictions involves all aspects of one's life and that some may be lacking the necessary education or skills to re-enter the work force. To overcome these obstacles, The Metro Oasis Club has established contacts with local school boards, businesses and employers that offer the person in recovery an opportunity to gain the necessary knowledge an/or skills that may be required.

In a relatively short time The Metro Oasis Club has not only been able to address the needs of individuals who are attempting to salvage their lives from addictions, as equally important, it has become a respected source for educating the general public about the issues relating to alcoholism/drug addiction.

An informal, non-clinical atmosphere that breaks down the barriers of guilt and shame has proven to be extremely beneficial to all who seek our assistance.

Also, since first opening its doors in May 1993, The Metro Oasis Club has been very community active.
