Supporting students at University of Toronto at Scarborough

UTSC Student Center

The University of Toronto at Scarborough, which opened in 1964, offers undergraduate and graduate programs and has become the GTA leader in co-op education. UTSC is now growing to meet the needs of the double Cohort and the increasing number of young Canadians seeking university education. The campus sill soon be home to more than 9000 students. To accommodate these students, UTSC is launching a $ 100 million capital expansion campaign that includes an academic resource center, 500-seat lecture and performance theater, residence, management building and art gallery named in honour of celebrated artist and UTSC alumna Doris McCarthy.

UTSC is also building a student center. The three-story 48,000 square foot building will house students meeting rooms, lounges, a restaurant/pub, computer lab, games room, prayer room, student clubs and other services integral to satisfying and memorable university experience.

UTSC’s students have come together to help create this space. They have pledged $60 per student every year for the next 30 years to help build and operate the new center. The university is also matching their commitment by 50%. This is a significant legacy that will benefit students for years to come.
