ASSET Sponsors Credit Education Week Canada for Fourth Year In a Row
ASSET is a proud sponsor of the fourth annual Credit Education Week Canada (CEWC), which was held between November 15th to 19th, 2010.
CEWC is created and hosted by Credit Canada – a not-for-profit credit counselling organization. This year CEWC will have a special focus on providing financial education to newcomers to Canada. There will be over 30 events running throughout the week across Canada.
CEWC’s events were highlighted with a Dinner Gala at the Park Hyatt Hotel, held on the evening of November 17th, 2010. It featured keynote speaker Craig Kielburger, who is the founder of Free The Children, the world’s leading youth-driven charity inspiring an entire generation to stand-up and make their voices heard. Also during the Dinner Gala, selected entrants from the grade 12 essay writing contest were awarded scholarship acknowledgements. The essay topic this year is “What is the dumbest thing I have done with my money and what did I learn from it?" As a sponsor, ASSET contributed $10,000.00 to fund the event, including $1,000.00 towards the scholarship reward. The winner of ASSET’s sponsored scholarship is Jerico Espinas. "ASSET is honoured to be part of this event since its inception four years ago. We are committed to educating the public with financial knowledge and supporting worthy events such as Credit Education Week," commented William Meany, ASSET Inc.'s President.
